Local data / 本地数据

The extension stores settings, subtitle cache, pending learning items, favorites, notes, tags, review schedules, conversations, conversation summaries, learning memories, learning history, and a locally generated installation/profile identifier in Chrome local storage and IndexedDB. A DeepSeek API key entered by the user is stored only in Chrome local storage. English Cue does not operate an account or synchronization server.

扩展会在 Chrome 本地存储和 IndexedDB 中保存设置、字幕缓存、待学习、收藏、笔记、标签、复习计划、对话与摘要、学习记忆、学习记录以及本机生成的安装/档案标识。用户填写的 DeepSeek API Key 仅保存在 Chrome 本地存储。English Cue 不提供账户或同步服务器。

Supported video pages / 视频页面

The extension accesses subtitle and player information from the Bilibili or YouTube page the user is viewing. It uses this information only to display subtitles, follow playback time, seek the player, and preserve the source of a learning item.

扩展会读取用户当前浏览的哔哩哔哩或 YouTube 页面中的字幕和播放器信息，仅用于展示字幕、跟随播放时间、播放器回跳以及记录学习项来源。

AI processing / AI 数据处理

AI is invoked when you request contextual learning, send a chat question, or request AI subtitle segmentation. Requests may include the selected expression, relevant subtitles, dictionary results, questions, conversation history and summaries, explanation preferences, and relevant learning memories. Long conversations may trigger summarization as part of the learning workflow. AI subtitle segmentation sends the current subtitle text in batches. Simply playing a video or reading captions does not invoke AI.

AI 会在你主动发起语境学习、发送对话问题或请求 AI 整理分句时调用。请求可能包含所选表达、相关字幕、词典结果、问题、对话历史及摘要、讲解偏好和相关学习记忆。长对话可能在学习流程中触发摘要；AI 整理分句会分批发送当前字幕正文。仅播放视频或阅读字幕不会调用 AI。

Built-in mode sends requests through the English Cue service hosted on Cloudflare to DeepSeek. A locally generated installation identifier is sent to the proxy and hashed for daily quota management. The proxy processes AI request content to forward it to DeepSeek; it is not a cloud synchronization service for your learning library. In bring-your-own-key mode, requests and your API credential are sent to the API endpoint configured in Settings. Service providers may process network metadata and operational logs under their own policies. Do not enter sensitive information into AI chat.

内置模式经部署在 Cloudflare 的 English Cue 服务代理转发给 DeepSeek。本地生成的安装标识会发送给代理，并经哈希处理用于每日额度管理。代理处理 AI 请求正文以转发给 DeepSeek，不提供学习库云同步。自带 Key 模式将请求和 API 凭据发送给设置中的 API 地址。服务提供方可能依据其政策处理网络元数据和运行日志。请勿在 AI 对话中输入敏感信息。

Permissions / 权限用途

• storage：保存本地设置和学习数据。
• activeTab：识别并连接当前打开的受支持视频页。
• scripting：仅在当前受支持视频页的脚本缺失或连接异常时注入扩展包内脚本，恢复字幕与播放器通信；不下载或执行远程代码。
• sidePanel：提供扩展的学习界面。
• Bilibili / YouTube 网站访问：读取公开字幕和播放器信息，并在用户操作后控制回跳。
• api.deepseek.com：仅在用户提供 API Key 并主动发起 AI 学习请求时使用。

Sharing and sale / 共享与出售

English Cue does not sell personal data, use data for advertising, or transfer data for credit, lending, or unrelated profiling. AI request data is processed by the service providers described above as part of user-requested learning operations.

English Cue 不出售个人数据，不将数据用于广告、征信、借贷或无关画像。AI 请求数据仅按上述用户发起的学习流程交由相关服务提供方处理。

User control / 用户控制

Users can edit or delete learning items, clear local learning data, remove the stored API key, and export or import data from Settings. Uninstalling the extension removes its Chrome-managed local data according to Chrome behavior.

用户可以在设置中编辑或删除学习项、清空本地学习数据、移除 API Key，并导入或导出数据。卸载扩展后，Chrome 会按照浏览器机制删除扩展管理的本地数据。
